Cultivation
With the right care, the Cayenne Long Slim is a truly productive plant. It’s important to keep the seeds at a stable temperature and ensure they get enough light to germinate properly. Once the plant is stronger, you can transplant it into a balcony box or directly into a garden bed. Both growing methods are fine for it. The bush grows to a height of about 60 cm and the fruit ripens after about 75 days.

Appearance and flavour
There’s no way you’ll get Cayenne Long Slim fruits mixed up with any others. They’re easily recognised by their red colour and, most of all, by their oblong shape. The pepper is typically about 1-2 cm wide, and can reach up to 15 cm in length. The tips of the fruit are slightly curled. The moderate spiciness of 30-50,000 SHU gives any dish a real kick. Apart from its spiciness, it also has a great aromatic flavour that goes really well with pickled vegetables or sauces. Cayenne pepper is also ideal for drying.
