Cultivation
Tabasco chili, used for making Tabasco sauce, is one of the easiest varieties to grow. It needs to be kept at a consistent temperature of about 24 °C and requires plenty of sunlight to germinate and grow. Once the seeds have germinated, regular watering and nutrients are enough. These plants grow well both in beds and larger pots, so they can also be moved to a balcony in the summer.

Appearance and flavour
Tabasco peppers are considered ornamental, and the plants grow to about 50 cm in height. The fruits are elongated, measuring 3–5 cm, and ripen in about 80 days, gradually changing color from green to yellow and finally to a vibrant red. These small, narrow fruits are not only beautiful but also have an intense flavor. The first bite is pleasantly fresh and fruity, quickly giving way to a sharp spiciness. Tabasco is an excellent addition to sauces, salsas, marinades, and dishes needing an extra kick.
